2009 Montalvo Little League All Stars

They won Distrivct 63 Championship by going 4-0, beating a tough Goleta Valley team by one run twice.

They won the Section 1 title by going 3-1; losing the 1st game to Conejo Valley and then coming back to beat a fundementally solid Conejo team twice.

The boys won the Southern California Sub-Division III Championship going 4-0 with wins against San Pedro, La Mirada, San Dimas and defeating La Mirada again in the champioship game.

The young men have now won the Southern California Championship by sweeping two games (12-6 and 11-7) from a tough 'never say die' team from West Corona.

They now move on to the Western Regionals in Aliso Viejo, CA. It is a twelve team tournament made of two pools of six teams. All teams play five games and the top two from each pool move on to a four team single elimination playoff. Pool play runs from 08-04-09 through 08-08-09 and the four team playoff is played on 08-10-09 with the championship on 08-11-09.

The team got their feet wet against last year's World Series runner-up and, on this day, found Hawaii's bats too much to handle in a 14-4 loss. The boys bounced back with an 11-4 victory over Idaho. Sound like the team used up some of its luck in defeating Nevada 10-9 - but hey, A wins a win! The boys finished pool play in high gear with 16-0 victory vs Oregon and an 11-0 victory over previously unbeaten Northern California. They finished pool play with a 4-1 record and advanced to the four team single elimination playoff where they lost 13-3 to the eventual undefeated Western Regional Champion from Arizona.

The boys did themselves proud and have raised the bar for all future Montalvo and District 63 teams.

The team went 0-4 at district.

10 & 11 Year Old Division

The team went 0-2 at district.
