The "Snack Bar" Team Parent Responsibilities Thank you for accepting the challenge of becoming a Team Parent. Your role is integral in the continuing success of Montalvo Little League. You are our link to your team's manager, coaches, parents, and children. You are essential to relaying the best, most current information as it transpires within our league. The snack bar at Montalvo Little League is unique, in that we operate in nearly the same capacity as a small restaurant. As Team Parent, part or your responsiblity will be to oversee and coordinate your team's required snack bar assignments. We will provide each of you with a copy of our "Snack bar Duties and Procedures Manual" to assist in this process. It is not necessary that you know everything, it is only necessary that you know where to find the information. Download the "How To" document here. Upon receiving snack bar schedule from league: 1. Assign 5 parents for each shift scheduled. (Team Parent or Co-Team Parent should also be at each snack bar shift) 2. Call all parents scheduled to work, 2-3 days prior to each shift to remind them of their duty. It is the parent's responsibility to switch shifts with another parent if needed. They should notify Team Parent of such changes. 3. If a parent chooses to "buy out" of his/her responsibility, collect $20 for each shift scheduled (You may have no more than two "buyouts" per shift). Contact the League Representative responsible for scheduling teens and notify him/her of your team name and shift coverage needed (Teen Rep. phone # to be provided at initial Team Parent meeting). You are then responsible to hold money until scheduled shift and pay teen at end of shift. Parents may not send their own teenage child to work their shift. Other roles of Team Parents include assisting the manager in notifying team members and their families of upcoming events, changes in practice and/or game schedules, profiding a game schedule of your team's games to your team, coordinating end of season party, and things like that there. Individual team's expectations of your role may differ slightly. We would again like to Thank You for volunteering. Little League survives because of people like you. The children appreciate you!
SNACK BAR "BUY-OUT" All teenagers must compete a volunteer application and be approved before they can be allowed to work in the snack bar. All 'Snack Bar Buyouts' are done through your Team Parent. The parent pays the team parent $20 for a shift and the Team Parent gives that money to the teenager. The league does not handle that money. Teenagers are not to be paid out of the cash register. Contact Jodi Russell at 797-4421 for scheduling a teenager for a buyout.
